hi signither, good question… tbh, I don’t actually know where or how to check if the product is genuine. Just because it’s cheap, doesn’t always mean it’s a fake, HK is well known for their cheap electronic goods. Sorry I can’t be of more help ^^;

hi there.. i’m thinking of buying some stuff from DigitalRev because their price is quite cheap.. but i’m kinda hesitate because cheap NEW stuff from ebay can sometimes be fake or an imitation.. i just wanna make sure if all the stuff is genuine before i proceed.. have you check the serial number and warranty online to confirm it? thanks in advance..

Hm…I bought my Sony Cybershot camera from Ebay a few years ago and no hassles. I guess sometimes you’re lucky sometimes your not. Hm..my next purchase would be a hybrid SLR camera =)

I stumbled upon your blog and it almost gave me a heart attack. As a 10 years old awards winning company and a merchant on eBay for nearly 9 years, we have never had a case like that. So I immediately gave our inventory and dispatch a visit, and they confirmed that it was a genuine mistake that they shipped something that was not supposed to be shipped.

Unfortunately in this case, one of our staff made a mistake and had the ex-displayed unit (which should be headed for a vendor of ex-demo auctions) shipped to you instead. This has never happened before. Had we done this often, we wouldn’t have became an award winning dot com company and the most recognized brand on eBay for 9 years.

Let me assure you that this will be solved within just a few days. We’ll arrange to have your camera returned and a brand new one will be shipped to you. We’ll be responsible for all the postage of course, and we are sending you a gift (I am keeping what it is secret for now ) with the replacement camera.

We don’t make many mistakes here at DigitalRev, but for the few times we do, we take them really personally. Our colleague who shipped the item to you by mistake is feeling really guilty at the moment. I only bought stuff from eBay once. It was a pleasant experience on my part. But the shipping cost are really high!

But then if you are looking for something not found locally (and you can’t just go abroad), eBay’s great. Just be careful.
