Telstra Bigpond has been our internet provider for a long long time now… a good 10 years at least. Even though we’ve been with them for so long, it’s not because we haven’t had problems with Telstra Bigpond, in fact it’s quite the opposite.
You would think that Bigpond’s broadband internet would be super fast… they all say that Cable kicks ADSL’s ass but alas, that is not the case.

I won’t go into details about the headache of dead Telstra lines and support staff who are inefficient in dealing with the obvious fact that the lines were down… anyway, this time we’re dealing with the the Bigpond Broadband internet speed.
To be quite honest I doubt our speed was ever at it’s optimal (equivalent to 8000 ADSL me thinks)

Okay, so I’m not 100% sure what these numbers mean … but from the look of the graph, I’m quite sure it’s not so good. I don’t understand why the Telstra tech guy was telling me we’ve got a super fast connection… Maybe he meant it was fast compared to dialup?
