We went to Cantina on a hot and muggy night in January. There was too much hype from friends and reviews read, so my expectations were higher than the norm. You really can’t compare it to the typical fancy restaurants because it’s quite… unique.
The food itself was quite interesting. I had the Black Risotto with Cuttlefish, I thought it would be similar to Modo Mio’s Black Ink Pasta… I thought wrong. The risotto was ok, would have be better if cooked a tad longer and had less salt, more flavour. I didn’t see or taste the lemon aioli or dill salsa in the dish which was stated on the menu….
Despite the disappointing experience, the service was really up to standard and I’m willing to give Cantina another shot…. just not with their current dinner menu, and when the weather is a lot cooler.
