Gundam 00: Yuna Ito – Trust You

After I finished watching Mobile Suit Gundam 00, I couldn’t help but love the ending song in season 2 by Yuna Ito – Trust You. It reminds me of the style I loved so much when I was into the whole kpop scene music

Sort Of Dunno Nothin’ – Peter Denahy

brushing teethTo end the last of the Dental Congress sessions, Dr James Lucas (Pediatric Dentist) played this funny music video to wake us all up. This song, Sort Of Dunno Nothin’ is by Peter Denahy, and it closely reflects the typical conversation between parents and their teenagers/adolescents.

giggleIt’s something we can all relate to and definitely something which will bring a smile to your face.

How’ve ya been? Good.
How’s ya dob? Good.
How’s college going? Good.
All hunky dory? Yep.
You goin’ out tonight? Yep.
Ya gonna see ya friends? Yep.
Ya gonna have a good catchup? Yep.
Well that should be great! Yep.

Where’d you go? No where.
Who’d you see? No one.
What’d you do? Nothin’.
Did you have a good time? Yep.
What’s on tonight? Nothin’.
You’re not seeing your mates? Nup.
You’re just staying at home? Yep.
What’ll you do? Nothin’.

Yep, yep, nothin’, nothin’, sort of, dunno, nowhere, good,
yep, nup, dunno, no one, sort of, dunno, nothin’.

You feelin’ alright? Yep.
How’s your ankle? Good.
When’s your exams? Dunno.
Have you done much study? Nup.
What’s on tomorrow? Dunno.
Are you playing cricket? Dunno.
Are you enjoying cricket? Sort of.
Sort of ‘ay? Yep.

Yep, yep, nothin’, nothin’, sort of, dunno, nowhere, good,
yep, nup, dunno, no one, sort of, dunno, nothin’.

How’s your girlfriend? Good.
Is she away this week? Yep.
Oh you must be missing her. Yep.
Have you rung her yet? Nup.
Well I’ll catch you later. Yep.
Don’t get too stressed. Nup.
What’s on tomorrow? What?
What’s on tomorrow? Nothin’.

Yep, yep, nothin’, nothin’, sort of, dunno, nowhere, good,
yep, nup, dunno, no one, sort of, dunno, nothin’.

Yep, yep, nothin’, nothin’, sort of, dunno, nowhere, good,
yep, nup, dunno, no one, sort of, dunno, nothin’.

Sort of, dunno, nothin’.

I’m A Dentist – Little Shop of Horrors

I’m a Dentist is exactly how the media loves to portray the Dentist as. A cruel, evil, sadistic dude. That’s why I like to dissociate myself by emphasising the fact I’m a hygienist =)

Anyhow, I’ll probably just be tweeting for a while because not only do I have the Dental Congress this weekend, I’ve got a lot of loose ends to tie up.

Reminder to self:

  • YSC – newsletter
  • Chase up itinerary: call J
  • Dig up Commerce books/notes/assignments: call C
  • Skim the market: call E
  • Check account
  • Call C (sms/persist if still can’t get through)
  • Burn CD of photos and images for mum
  • Give mum a crash course on how to use the lumix
  • Make another list of things to do while mum is gone

(Orin) When I was young and just a bad little kid,
My momma noticed funny things I did.
Like shootin’ puppies with a BB-Gun.
I’d poison guppies, and when I was done,
I’d find a pussy cat and bash in its head.
That’s when my momma said…
(What did she say?)
She said my boy, I think someday
You’ll find a way
To make your natural tendencies pay…

You’ll be a dentist.
You have a talent for causing things pain!
Son, be a dentist.
People will pay you to be inhumane!

You’re temperament’s wrong for the priesthood,
And teaching would suit you still less.
Son, be a dentist.
You’ll be a success.

(Ronette) Here he is, girls, the leader of the plaque.
(Chiffon) Watch him suck up that gas! Oh my God!
(Crystal) He’s a dentist and he’ll never ever be any good!
(All Three) Who wants their teeth done by the Marquis de Sade?
(Patient) Oh, that hurts! I’m not numb!
(Orin) Eh, Shut Up! Open Wide! Here I Come!

I am your dentist.
And I enjoy the career that I picked.
I’m your dentist.
And I get off on the pain I inflict!

I thrill when I drill a bicuspid.
It’s swell, though they tell me I’m mal-adjusted.

And though it may cause my patients distress.
Somewhere…Somewhere in heaven above me…
I know…I know that my momma’s proud of me.
Oh, Momma…

‘Cause I’m a dentist…
And a success!

Say ahh… (ahh)
Say AHhhh…(ahhhh)
Say AAARRRHHHH!!! (aaarrrhhhh!!!)
Now Spit!

Consequence – Kristine Sa [full lyrics]

A fairly old song which I stumbled across whilst blog surfing is Consequence by Kristine Sa.
The lyrics are easy to understand, and it follows the typical love story format (boy meets girl, fall in love, and then someone gets heart broken). The best part about the song though, is the singing! I have to admit that although I really enjoy this song, I don’t like any of the other songs by Kristine Sa… just not really my style I suppose?

Below is the video which you can download from her myspace page, and the full lyrics of Consequence. For some reason I couldn’t get the lyrics for the last section of Consequence so I had to type it out (might not be accurate)

You were all things amazing to me
Made my life, gave me air I could breathe
Everything you did seemed right
I felt so innocent

I went crazy, so crazy for you
I gave my heart, lost my mind, payed my dues
Then when you pushed me aside
You took my confidence

[Chorus]
And now I feel like I’m lost in this world
And I feel like I’m dying
And I feel for the life that we shared
But you made it all disappear
Love and it’s consequence

I walked back to this place I felt faith
In my mind I’m the girl of your dreams
I refuse to realize
That you were an accident (accident)

I can’t blame you for not wanting me (not wanting me)
I’d reclaim but, there’s no guaranty
That you would not leave me behind
I have my evidence

[Chorus]
And now I feel like I’m lost in this world
And I feel like I’m dying
And I feel for the life that we shared
But you made it all disappear
Love and it’s consequence (oohh)

[Bridge]
I’ll give up my hope,
Nothings left anyway
All these words that you spoke,
Did you mean to say?
My mind’s worn down,
My hurts on display
Please don’t take your time
When you walk away (when you walk away)
When you walk away
That is when I feel like I’m lost in this world (like I’m lost in this world)
And I feel like I’m dying (like I’m dying)
I feel for the life that we shared (for the life that we shared)
But you made it all disappear
Love and it’s consequence
And now I feel like I’m lost in this world (lost in this world)
And I feel like I’m dying (like I’m dying)
And I feel for the life that we shared (life that we shared)
You made it all disappear (you made it all disappear)

I can take what tomorrow will bring
And in some ways I can’t say anything
When will I forget, feel right?
Love has it’s consequence

Australian National Anthem by Adam Hills

Good old Advance Australia Fair… It would have been a great Anthem if it didn’t make me want to fall asleep all the time. I noticed during the Beijing Olympics that England also has a pretty slow anthem, so maybe it’s a commonwealth thing? I totally love the version Adam Hills sang at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival to the tune of “Working Class Man” by Jimmy Barnes. If only they let us sing this version when we were in Primary School! =)

Why don’t we adopt this as our new national anthem?????

Australians all let us rejoice
For we are young and free
With golden soil and wealth for toil
Our home is girt by sea
Oh oh oh our home is girt by sea
Our land abounds in Nature’s gifts
Of beauty rich and rare
In history’s page, let every stage
Advance Australia fair!
Oh oh oh, Advance Australia fair

Beneath our radiant southern Cross
We’ll toil with hearts and hands
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands
For those who’ve come across the seas
We’ve boundless plains to share
Oh oh oh, Advance Australia fair

Australians all let us rejoice
For we are young and free
With golden soil and wealth for toil
Our home is girt by sea
Our land abounds in Nature’s gifts
Of beauty rich and rare
In history’s page, let every stage
Advance Australia fair!
oHh, Advance Australia fair
oHh, Advance Australia fair!~

葡萄园之恋 aka Vineyard Man

The Vineyard Man Synopsis

Bright, energetic, and just a bit spoiled, aspiring fashion designer Lee Ji Hyun (Yoon Eun Hye) is the picture of a typical city girl. She drinks expresso, takes dance lessons, dresses impeccably, and knows the value of money. After she gets fired from her job, Ji Hyun’s grandfather asks her to go work at his vineyard.

Moving to the countryside is the last thing Ji Hyun wants to do – until she realizes how much the land will be worth when it gets redeveloped. In exchange for a year at the vineyard, she can get the money to start her own fashion line.

Life in the countryside is unbearable for this clueless city girl, especially when she has to work with a hillbilly like Kang Taek Gi (Oh Man Seok). But as time passes, Ji Hyun finds herself falling in love with both the vineyard and the man in it.

I’ve just finished yet another Korean drama called The Vineyard Man (葡萄园之恋 pu tao yuan zi lian) which (again) stars Yoon Eun Hye, she also starred in Coffee Prince and Goong (Princess Hours). After 16 episodes I finally learned to love the male lead, Taek Gi, although it was after a bad first impression (especially after I watched Goong). It was a little like Endless Love, I grew to love the characters by the end of the series instead of an instant connection.

One thing I really love about The Vineyard Man is one of their theme songs played throughout the show called 想靠近你 (xiang kao jin ni). It’s track number 5 on The Vineyard Man OST, da ga ga go ship uh by Kim Jung Eun.

*Spoiler warning*

The Vineyard Man is a very sweet romantic comedy which I would recommend for those looking for some light entertainment, my mum loved so I’m sure yours will to giggle. Yoon Eun Hye and Oh Man Suk are great performers who bring the characters to life, and they’re definitely entertaining to watch. Unfortunately though, The Vineyard Man is very similar to other Korean dramas out there, there’s some pretty heavy crying scenes…
