Does Prince William Know His Marital Statistics?

Reading about Prince William’s engagement somehow led me to an article about the decline in marriage and the ‘new families’. Pew Social Trends and TIME Magazine did a survey and this a brief summary of their findings.

  • Higher education, wealth and marriage are linked
  • Women are smarter, richer, more independent and are more 2/3 likely to initiate divorce
  • Don’t be surprised if the wife is the breadwinner, older and taller than hubby
  • Higher educated couples test run before marriage and children, less educated couples have children then marry
  • Pray you’re not living in the US: “..a child living together with unmarried parents in Sweden has a lower chance that his family will disrupt than does a child living with married parents in the U.S.”
  • Married and unmarried adults say (in order of priority) that love, making a lifelong commitment and companionship are very important reasons to get married. Having children moderately so and financial stability barely even made it past the 30% mark for married adults.

When life takes you for a spin…

Faces of Bayon

Blog posts aren’t as easy to shoot out as before…

When there’s time to blog, there’s nothing of interest.
When there’s no time to blog, I can’t keep up with the ideas!

There seems to be a lot of organising, arranging, reshuffling, deciding, creating ….
and a bit of shopping wink_smilie

  • Birthdays
  • Baby Shower
  • Hens
  • Weddings
  • House Warmings
  • Work
  • Finding Work (well… thinking of finding it anyway)

Take me back to the days in Siem Reap where the mind was fat and lazy!!

Crazy Week …
Packing for Siem Reap - Dental Donations
many thanks to A (OralB) and S (DHAA) for their significant contributions!!

Mum (and I) tried to pack this way and that way 找一个办法带那么多牙膏和牙刷去 Siem Reap Angkor Hospital for Children. (Ref: Pre-travel Research)

At the end of the day, it looks like I’ll have to hand carry all my clothes because the bag is a bit over 15kg and AirAsia wants me to pay for an upgrade to 25kg?!! Geeze… I only wanted a bit of leeway incase I was overweight, not an upgrade. If they took body mass into consideration, I should be given at least 10kgs extra! Anyway,  I’m going to assume J isn’t utilising the 15kg and bum off her excess weight~

Other than packing there’s also been a lot of movement.

Hauling all the furniture off the carpet meant I had to box all my belongings and sleep Japanese style…

You don’t realise the number of possessions you have until you have to pack it all away! At least now I know I can survive on minimal number of clothing.

The repainting of the walls sure makes a room look new….

But it’s the re-carpeting that makes the room feel new!

Anyway, I suppose all the stress prior to departure will make me enjoy the trip even more friends
